SALVIS

In 1915, Emil Salvisberg founded the firm Salvis in Reussbühl (Luzern). By doing so, he laid the foundations of a corporation, which specialised in gastronomy and communal catering. For example in 1919 Salvis manufactured the first electric cooker. In 1997, the merger of Franke Verpflegungstechnik AG took place. The long-standing and combined expertise of both companies is seen in Salvis AG today and this expertise continues to grow and optimise.

The milestones in device development
Franke has also always developed and optimised valuable devices for professional kitchens, just as much as Salvis has and so the work of the catering professionals is markedly simplified. The milestones of the Franke/Salvis device development in the last 30 years include the Combi-Steamer, amongst other things. The Salvis Combi-Steamer banquet system has specially been praised for its sophistication and thoroughness, as it guarantees stress-free work, a better workload in kitchens and simplified production processes.

Commemorating the company’s 100 year history
Salvis celebrated its anniversary with the installation of one of the largest banquet systems for the International Convention Centre in Durban, South Africa. Salvis-CUCINA 20 x GN 1/1 with 70 banquet systems for 6,000 people are to be installed over the 2014/2015 New Year period. For a smooth running, the specialists at Salvis with their partner (Culinary Equipment Company) manage the site, deliveries and installations and above all, they provide training for 45 lucky cooks and one extremely proud chef, John Moatshe, giving them an additional boost of motivation. Today the Salvis-CUCINA's (kitchens) are equipped with many technical refinements, as well as a high-resolution touch display. It is certain that the work of the chefs is a straightforward operation and they have a perfect programme drawn up. 3740 dishes were served with warm food here in 20 minutes (from the first guest to the last guest), the dishes were nicely presented and the company had full control of costs.
